→ Observational Coaching: Pair the
employee/employees up with someone who does
a good job at using facts over emotion when it
comes to conflict driven questions. Have your
employee/employees that you’re coaching
journal this observation and have them email you
at theend of the week two things they did well,
one thing they had a question about, and one
thing they’ll bring with them in future
conversations.
Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Journal Based Coaching: Have the employee track of the number
of times they used emotional or opinion-based conversation tactics
andhow many times they used fact driven conversation. At the end of
the week, have them share the numbers with you and how that
activity reframed their association with conversations about conflict.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ 30-Second Coaching: Reinforce the employee’s ability to reframe their
conversations by taking 30 seconds to verbally acknowledge. Be
specific in letting them know what they did well and how it will benefit
them on the path toward reaching their goal.
