Reinforcing Lack of Conflict
Suggested Strategy: Your employees who avoid conflict in a constructive
way need to continue to have positive reinforcement. Do this the easy
way by incorporating 30-Second Coaching to continue to drive forward
motion after having Whiteboard Coaching and Journal-Based Coaching
tofuel them.
Suggested Questions:
→ Reflection Question: What do you learn about yourself during the
process of coaching/self-development that you didn’t know before?
→ Self-Actualized Question: What will you do to continue to avoid
conflict in a constructive way on a consistent and genuine basis?
Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of the board, ask the employee
to describe how they have specifically been able to avoid conflict. On
the right side of the board, ask the employee what they could do better
when it relates to avoiding conflict. Then, erase the left-hand side of the
board and ask them to think of the actions and behaviors that are
necessary to get to the right side of the board. Simply because an
employee has gotten to their previous goals, or has shown positive
progress, doesn’t mean their journey is complete. Often, providing the
space to explore options and goals will reveal more and keep your
employee engaged and aware that you’re invested in the process.
