Resolving Team Conflict Through Confronting the Conflict

Suggested Strategy: Many fear conflicts, but one of the most important

aspects about conflict is acknowledging it. By bringing the conflict to the

forefront, the less chance there is for it to fester underneath the surface.

Suggested Questions:

→ Permission-Based Question + The

Sword: With your permission, and

so that I don’t make any assumptions

because that would be unfair to you, I

would like to share my perceptions

with you as it relates to our team’s

conflict. (When permission is

granted, share your perceptions).

→ Reflective Question: I don’t want

you to answer right away, I’m going

to (get a coffee, use the restroom,

etc.) but while I’m gone, I’d like you to

think about what actions you might be

willing to take in order to confront this

conflict as a team.
