Suggested Activities:
→ Define & Coach: Have the team define how they feel they are dealing
with the team’s conflict. Then, have a discussion with what you’re
wanting in terms of how the team confronts conflict.
→ Whiteboard Coaching: Building off the previous conversation, onthe
right-hand side of the board, take the points from your discussionand
ask for feedback on their opinions on what their goals are for
confronting conflict. Then, on the left-hand side of the board, ask the
team to describe how they currently confront conflict. To finish the
activity, erase the left-hand side of the board and ask the team
specifically what steps need to take place to reach the actions and
behaviors listed on the right-hand side of the board.
Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Pair each member of the team with an
employee that you feel would challenge them to continue to develop the
skills you went over in the activity section. Then, have the employees
rate each other at the end of the week on two things they did well, one
thing they could improve on, and one area they learned about from their
peer employee they didn’t think about before and that they will use in the
future.
