Self-Reflection
Suggested Strategy: By using self-reflection, employees will have an
easier time completing self-actualized questions that truly get at the
heart of their challenges. Start with open-ended questioning to fuel self-
reflection, then narrow down to focus on self-actualization that maps
directly to their brainstorming.
Suggested Questions:
→ Self-Actualized Question: What successes and challenges have led
you to this point in your career?
→ Risk Question: What risks do you assume by not taking the time to
self-reflect?
Suggested Activities:
→ Define & Coach: Together, come up with a definition of what self-
reflection looks like for everyone . One person’s meditation may be
taking a long drive, while another employee’s may be a bike ride. Come
up with some attributes you want them to look for, but ultimately let
themlead this discussion.
→ Self-Actualized Reflection: A self-actualized question is when you put
a success imperative in a question format. For self-actualized goal
setting, approach this the same way by coming up with a list of activities
together that will allow your employee to garner the skills to make their
goals happen.
