→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of a whiteboard, write down

how the individual would currently describe how they evaluate the level

of contribution that they should have in any meeting. On the right side of

the board, ask them to define what it looks like to be consistent in their

comfortability with contributing to any kind of meeting. Then, erase the

left side of the board and write down a strategy that you and the

individual create together to help them become more confident in their

contributions to any meeting they participate in.

Suggested Learning Projects:

→ Observational Coaching: Ask the person you are coaching to observe

other participants in their upcoming meetings – they should keep in mind

how they might use these observations to contribute to the meetings

themselves. How will they decide their level of contribution to future

meetings, and how will their contributions complement those of others in

the meetings?

→ Tangible Successes: Assign your coaching target to come back to

your next coaching session with three examples of situations where they

felt confident in their contributions to both meetings with and without

executives attending. What was the perceived outcome of their

contributions to the meeting?
