Engagement Through Shared Goals
Suggested Strategy: To get everyone on the same page when it comes
to engagement, come up with a shared set of goals to reach and make
them meaningful to their everyday experiences at work.
Suggested Questions:
→ Define & Coach: What does success look like to you? Can
we create a shared definition of engagement specific to that
definition?
→ Reflective Question: What motivates you? What things
stand in the way of your motivation?
o Give your coaching target a few minutes to think
about their answer to this question while you step
out of the room to use the restroom, grab coffee,
etc. Discuss their answer when you return.
→ Self-Actualized Question: What do you need from me to
helpembrace this engagement on all levels of our team?
Suggested Activities:
→ Brainstorming: You won’t know if you’ve made any change unless you
keep track of it. An easy way to do this is to have a quarterly
engagement study, but act upon those results with tangible activities and
discussions germane to the areas that were highlighted in the results.
Come up with a specific strategy together that will implement this idea.
