Setting Expectations
Suggested Strategy: Utilize a Define & Coach strategy with work
expectations and use Role Play to understand where the employee is
currently at in terms of ability to execute those expectations and quality.
Suggested Questions:
→ Define & Coach: What is your understanding of your job role and
expectations and the quality associated with those expectations? Can
you name three to five actions that represent that definition?
→ Success Imperative: What will you do to successfully practice those
skills as we defined above to achieve a high-quality work output?
→ Self-Actualized Question: What do we need to do together to outline
how to do what you just came up with in the above question?
Suggested Activities:
→ Define & Coach: The employee might
not be entirely sure of what exactly
their job requirements are. Ask them to
explain what he/she thinks their job
entails and you can then compare
exactly to what they are expected to do
by you and the company.
