Giving & Receiving Feedback as a Team
Suggested Strategy: Behavioral-Based Coaching in a group setting:
making sure that the group can give and receive feedback with
confidence and conviction
Suggested Questions:
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six representing
unrelenting confidence, and one represents some hesitation or
reluctance, where would you rate your ability to give feedback? How
about receiving feedback? What actions can we take together to help
you reach a six?
→ Risk Question: What risks do we mitigate as a team by making sure
the group is equally successful in giving and receiving feedback?
Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of the board, write down how
the group would describe their current ability to give and receive
feedback to each other. On the right side of the board, write down the
ideal description of what it looks like to give and receive feedback well.
Erase the left side and then write down the group’s ideas of actions to
take to help them reach the level of comfortability that they had defined
on the right side of the board.
