Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Self-Directed Learning: Challenge the employee to learn something
new about the Millennial generation that they did not know prior to their
research. This could be something learned from working with a
customer, doing research online, or reading a book or article. Discuss
their findings at your next coaching session and ask them how their
new findings will play into their strategy for assisting Millennials to the
best of their ability.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ Non-Verbal Coaching: Leave the individual a handwritten note at their
workstation after you observe a successful interaction with a Millennial.
Be specific in sharing the actions that the employee took that you had
observed, and how those actions will be beneficial to the individual in
their future interactions with Millennials, as well as other customers with
specific tendencies.
→ Observational Coaching: Ask the employee to observe their peers
throughout the coming work week as they interact with customers like
Millennials with specific tendencies. How do their peers adjust their
approach to each individual client?
