Being Prepared for Meetings
Suggested Strategy: Utilizing a Rating Question with Whiteboard
Coaching, you can help bring the individual’s awareness to their current
state of preparedness for meetings, while simultaneously guiding them
to structure a strategy to increase that level going forward.
Suggested Questions:
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six representing that
you are 100% prepared with all materials and information needed for all
meetings, and one being that you are not prepared at all for any
meetings, where would you rate yourself and why?
→ Success Imperative: What will you specifically do going forward to
successfully and completely prepare for meetings and ensure that you
are mitigating any risks that might come with being unprepared?
Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of a whiteboard, write down
how the individual believes their team would describe their current level
of preparedness for meetings. On the right side of the board, write down
what they would describe as the ideal definition for what it looks like to
be completely prepared for meetings. Then, erase the left side of the
board and work together with the individual to build a strategy and a list
of actions to be taken going forward so that the individual works toward
reaching the ideal description remaining on the right side of the board.
