Suggested Learning Projects:

→ Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Assign your coaching target to meet once per

week with a new peer that has similar requirements for meetings. Their

discussion should include the person you are coaching asking

questions of their peer to learn of their

strategies for preparing for meetings,

what they have found success in

doing, and where they find

challenges. How have their peers

successfully addressed those

challenges? Discuss their notes at

your next coaching session and any

takeaways they might have.

→ Observational Coaching: While in meetings going forward, ask the

individual to observe others in meetings and their level of preparedness.

What about their peers’ preparation differs from their own? What

different outcomes go along with different levels of preparation?

Supplemental Coaching Strategies:

→ 30-Second Coaching: After the individual comes to a meeting

completely prepared and a positive outcome is observed by you, take 30

seconds to verbally acknowledge the efforts and improvements made by

the individual. Be specific in sharing their actions ad why those actions

are appreciated by you and beneficial to the individual.
