Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Self-Directed Learning: Assign your coaching target to come up with,
between now and your next coaching session, four actions that they
must take in order to move from where they currently are to the
definition on the right side of the whiteboard. They should also write
down with those actions how taking initiative will help them successfully
practice each aspect of the expectations of their job.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ 30-Second Coaching: Take 30 seconds to verbally acknowledge when
you observe this person taking initiative toward fulfilling the expectations
set by their job. Be specific in telling them what they did well and why
their actions will benefit them in their position.
