at in their career? What Opportunities might be afforded to them by
becoming great? What Actions must be taken to bring those
opportunities within reach? And what will this person Love about
reaching their goals? How will having a strong initiative outside of
directly assigned tasks help this person in reaching their goals in their
career?
Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Have the person you are coaching sit down
with one new peer each week and strategize what it would look like for
the team to take initiative (based on your definition from the discussion)
above and beyond the tasks directly assigned to them.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ Non-Verbal Coaching: Let your coaching target know when they are
doing a good job. When you notice their initiative gain a boost, write
them a note and leave it on their desk letting them know specifically
what they have done well.
