Reinforcing Progress
Suggested Strategy: Your employees who demonstrate positive
momentum need to continue to have positive reinforcement. Do this the
easy way by incorporating 30-Second Coaching to continue to drive
forward motion.
Suggested Questions:
→ Reflection Question: What do you learn about yourself during the
process of coaching and self-development that you didn’t know before?
→ Self-Actualized: What will you do to continue to reflect and progress
within the organization? In your career?
Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: Use Whiteboard Coaching to continue the
momentum that brought that employee there in the first place. On the
left-hand side of the board, ask the employee to describe how they
currently feel like they’re progressing and the actions that have led them
to that point. On the right side of the board, ask the employee their ideal
progress, goals, etc. Then erase the left-hand side of the board and ask
the employee to think of the actions and behaviors that are necessary to
get to the right side of the board. Simply because an employee has
gotten to their previous goals, or has shown positive progress, doesn’t
mean their journey at the company is complete. Often, providing the
space to explore options and goals will reveal more and keep your
employee engaged and aware that you’re invested in the process.
