Suggested Learning Projects:

→ Reflective Coaching: Obviously, there will be no follow up after an exit

interview, so by asking a Reflective Question you can help to invoke

self-evaluation.

→ Example: “As we bring this to a close, I would like to share that your

efforts with us have been appreciated in the areas of

(insert

what the individual was skilled at in their position), and going forward in

your future, I would like for you to think about how you can use those

strengths to build other areas of your performance such as (insert areas

that the individual may have struggled with). ”

Supplemental Coaching Strategies:

→ 30-Second Coaching: To close your meeting,

share with the individual their specific efforts that

have been appreciated and effective in their time

with the company. This will help to end the interview

on a positive note and share with them that you care

about their development as they go forward in their

career.
