Confidence in Peer Relationships
Suggested Strategy: One of the best ways to build confidence is to find
people who know how to encourage you and build you up. When peers
know how to best support you, the more you will demonstrate growth.
This comes through the process of peer group selection, which can
often be a struggle for employees. Help your employee who has a lack
of confidence get the peer selection piece taken care of, then watch
their confidence increase.
Suggested Questions:
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six being you feel like
you have a strong support system that helps you with your confidence
on a daily basis, and one being you feel like you have few to no peer
connections, which diminishes your confidence, where would you rate
yourself and why? What can I do to help you find better peer
connections to help you do so?
→ Risk Question: What risk do you assume by not building better peer
relationships in connection with your confidence? What do you feel is
holding you back from seeking these peer relationships?
→ Dig Deeper: Avoid wasting time later by asking which personalities they
work best with, and the type of people they seek friendship with outside
of work.
