Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of the whiteboard, write down
how the employee’s current work relationships stand and the actions
they are currently taking to bridge the gap between the two parties.
Then, on the right side, write down what ideal relationships between
that employee and their coworkers would look like. Erase the left side
and write down the steps necessary to make the right side a reality. Be
sure to drill down these actionable steps, as these are the areas that
you can hold this employee accountable to completing in order to mend
the relationships.
Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Journal-Based Coaching: Have the employee write down every time
they are successful at accomplishing the tasks that you discussed
during your whiteboard coaching session. Then, every week, have them
email you those successes and have them elaborate as to how that
affected them positively in the workplace.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ Non-Verbal Coaching: Leave the employee a hand-written note at
their workstation when you observe efforts or progress made by the
employee to take ownership of their peer relationships and to own their
own change for the better.
