Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Whiteboard Coaching Follow Up: Assign your coaching target to
come back to your next coaching session with the five hash marks from
the whiteboard activity filled in with five actions that the individual is
committed to taking to reach the description written on the right side of
the board. What strategies will they need to put into place to practice
that definition, and how will they go about making those strategies a
regular part of their follow up with prospective clients? Discuss these at
your next coaching session.
→ Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Ask the individual to meet with a new peer
each week to discuss their strategies for following up with prospective
clients. What does their peer do that they might be able to implement in
their own strategies? The person you are coaching should email you
after each meeting, copying the peer they spoke with, to share what
they learned from their peer and what they could still do to improve their
follow up techniques.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ 30-Second Coaching: As the individual begins to put the definition of
following up with prospective clients as discussed at the start of your
coaching session into practice and the results begin to show, take 30
seconds to verbally acknowledge their specific actions in improving their
follow up strategies, while also letting them know why their actions are
appreciated by you and by the team.
