Persistence in Sales
Suggested Strategy: Utilize a Define & Coach question to help the
individual gain an understanding of the expectations set for them related
to being persistent in their line of work. You can then help them find a
balance between persistence and either coming off too strong or not
strong enough as a salesperson.
Suggested Questions:
→ Define & Coach: When thinking about successful persistence in sales,
how do you think you would specifically define what that looks like?
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six representing that
you are entirely confident in implementing that definition in your sales
technique and one representing that you tend to avoid persistence,
where would you rate yourself and why?
→ Self-Actualized Question: What actions do you think you might
specifically be committed to taking to implement that definition in your
own sales technique?
Suggested Activities:
→ Role Play: Work with the individual to create scripted conversation
pieces and tactics that they can implement when selling. Then, have
them practice those strategies with you in a role play setting. This will
give them the opportunity to become fluent in these strategies and
exude confidence when persistently selling.
