→ GOAL-Based Coaching: What does this person hope to become Great
at in their career? What Opportunities might present themselves by
becoming great? What Actions must this person take in order to bring
those opportunities within reach? What will this person Love about
reaching their goals? How can focusing on the details help bring their
goals to a more attainable place?
Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Journal-Based Coaching: Ask the employee you are coaching to keep
a journal over the next week. The entries should include things like
details related to actions that this person took to pay great attention to
detail while completing a task. They should include how the action had
an impact on their work and their confidence in the quality of the work
they have completed.
→ Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Assign your coaching target to meet with a
peer in the coming week. Their meeting should be an interview
regarding how their peer stays detail-oriented: what practices do they
have in place so that they are sure that each detail is addressed?
What benefits does their peer gain when they focus on the details of
their projects? The person you are coaching should write down the
answers to these questions and be prepared to discuss at your next
coaching session.
