Accepting New Staff Members
Suggested Strategy: Utilizing a Whiteboard Coaching strategy, help the
employee build a strategy for what to do when new staff comes into the
office.
Suggested Questions:
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six representing that
you know exactly what to do to help new staff feel comfortable, and one
representing that you have no idea of what to do, where would you rate
yourself and why?
→ Risk Question: What risks do you think you might mitigate by being
prepared to welcome new staff into the office?
Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of the board, write down what
the employee says they currently do when new staff start with the team.
What actions do they currently take to welcome new staff members and
help get them off to a great start? On the right side of the board, ask the
individual to describe what they believe it ideally looks like to accept
new staff members to the team. Then, erase the left side of the board
and create a strategy with the individual for them to take when new staff
members join the team, and how they can participate in getting them off
to a great start.
