→ Practice: Once the members of the team have partnered up, give them
sample scenarios where they would have to find a solution with their
peers. Task them with creating a solution together where both of their
job roles would need to be involved. Afterward, have each team share
their solutions to the problem presented.
Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Tangible Successes: Ask the members of the team to come back to
your next session with two examples from the previous week where
they felt they went above and beyond to work with their peers to create
a solution to a problem. Was the problem solved effectively? What
actions did they take to involve their teammates in creating a solution?
→ Observational Coaching: Ask each team member to observe their
teammates throughout the week in how they go about finding solutions
to problems that come up during the week. Do they seek help from
peers, or do they try to tackle the challenge alone? Each team member
should email the entire team by the end of each week with one thing
that they observed that a teammate did well related to working with
peers to create a solution to a problem.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ 30-Second Coaching: Take 30 seconds of your day to verbally
acknowledge members of the team that make positive efforts to work
with their team to create solutions to issues that come up during the
week. Be specific in sharing the actions that you observed and how
those actions will benefit the team.
