Teammates Working Together
Suggested Strategy: The focus here should be on how teammates can
help you reach your goals through Third-Party Questions and risk
mitigation.
Suggested Questions:
→ Third-Party Question: If (the employee that they don’t work well with)
were to describe your role as a teammate, what do you think they might
say?
→ Risk Question: What risks do you think you might mitigate by learning
the best ways for you to successfully work with your teammates?
Suggested Activities:
→ GOAL-Based Coaching: Discuss the employee’s GOALs for their
career (Great, Opportunity, Action, Love). How might a team be able to
help him/her reach those goals?
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of the whiteboard, write down
how the employee thinks he would currently be described as a
teammate by his/her peers. On the right side of the board, write down
how the employee would ideally like to be described as a teammate.
Now erase the left side of the board and write in that space what actions
you can take together to help the employee reach the description on the
right side of the board.
