Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Self-Directed Learning: Have your coaching target watch a team sport
on television at some point in the coming week. Ask them to observe
and write down how the teammates work together. Could one member
of the team have done their job without their teammates? Did the team
accomplish a goal together? Have the employee bring their
observations to your next meeting.
→ Observational Coaching: The employee should observe their peers
during down times. How do they work together? How is their
relationship important to the progress of both the department and their
individual success? Discuss their responses at your next session.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ 30-Second Coaching: Take 30 seconds in your day to let the
employee know when they’ve done something specific well with a peer.
