→ Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Assign your coaching target to meet with the
folks that they interact with the most outside of their own team in other
disciplines to evaluate the communication and relationship between
them. What do they both feel is successful in their relationship? What
challenges do they face? How can they create a strategy together to
address those challenges? Discuss the answers to these questions at
your next coaching session.
→ Observational Coaching: Ask the individual to observe the
interactions between disciplines that occur around them. What aspects
of those interactions are successful? What challenges does the
individual observe and how do their peers overcome them? What
takeaways from their observations can they put into practice in their
own interactions?
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ 30-Second Coaching: As the individual’s
interactions with others become noticeably
more efficient and positive to the relationship,
take 30 seconds to share with them the
specific actions they have taken and how, in
your observations, those actions are
beneficial to that specific relationship.
