Long-Term Planning
Suggested Strategy: Start your coaching conversation by evaluating the
knowledge necessary to be successful in long-term planning.
Suggested Questions:
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six representing that
you feel you possess the knowledge necessary to be successful through
long-term planning, and one representing that you do not feel that you
have a strong understanding of long-term planning, where would you
honestly rate yourself and why?
→ Self-Actualized Question: What specific actions do you think we can
take together to help you reach a six?
Suggested Activities:
→ Brainstorming: Map out some long-term planning strategies that the
individual can implement using practice scenarios where they may need
that knowledge. Ask them to share with you what their plan might be,
discuss how the long-term plan may play out, and then what they may
want to adjust in the plan.
→ Teach Me: Have the individual walk you through three specific ways in
which they will utilize long-term planning in the coming week.
