Suggested Learning Projects:

→ Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Assign your coaching target to

meet with two peers separately in the coming week to

discuss their strategies for calendar management. What

practices do their peers have in place that they may be able

to utilize themselves? After their meetings, the individual

should email you, copying the peer they just met with on the

email, sharing any takeaways and things that they learned

in the meeting.

→ Journal-Based Coaching: Ask the person to keep a

journal with entries tracking their progress in utilizing

proactive scheduling based on the definition from the

beginning of your conversation. They should note their

successes in putting the strategy into practice, as well as

anything they may need more practice in.

Supplemental Coaching Strategies:

→ Non-Verbal Coaching: As you notice tangible improvements in the

individual’s calendar management, such as accomplishing all their

scheduled tasks in the day, share with them the specific actions and

efforts you have observed them taking. Also let them know why those

actions are appreciated by you and beneficial to the individual.
