Building Trust Outside of Work
Suggested Strategy: Spending time together as a team is one way to
increase trust on a team that is lacking in this department. Use things
like a team lunch or strategic meeting that involves everyone to practice
the skills and learn more about each other that is necessary to build
trust.
Suggested Questions:
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six you feel like you
have consistent and quality opportunities to spend time with your
coworkers outside of daily tasks, where would you rate yourself and
why? What can I do to help create more opportunities of merit?
→ Risk Question: What risk do we, as a team, have by not engaging in
more quality team building meetings, lunches, or other opportunities?
→ Success Imperative: What do we need to do together to successfully
set up the behaviors necessary to have constructive, quality team
building events?
Suggested Activities:
→ Define & Coach: In order for everyone to be on the same page with
team building, and in order for it to be constructive, get together with the
team and come up with a shared definition of what quality team building
looks like. Then, if there are any discrepancies, you and the team can
discuss them together in order for future events to be successful.
