Trust Outside Employee’s Control
Suggested Strategy: Use a Peer-to-Peer Coaching strategy to help the
employee build trusting relationships with peers and other members of
the team. This helps down the road when the employee needs to trust
their teammates to execute when they do not have control of the
situation.
Suggested Questions:
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six representing a
complete comfortability with trusting your team and allowing others to
have control and one representing that you fear allowing others to be in
control, where would you rate yourself and why?
→ Self-Actualized Question: What actions do you think you are
committed to taking to reach a six?
Suggested Activities:
→ Teach Me: Ask the employee to walk you through situations where they
may feel like they are unable to trust others when they do not have
control. Practice the steps to take in those situations so that the
employee you are coaching is more at ease when having to trust others.
