Suggested Strategy: Build the employee’s confidence in being
conversational by facilitating practice conversations.
Suggested Questions:
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six representing complete confidence, and one representing a complete lack of
confidence, where would you rate yourself in being conversational with
members?
→ Risk Question: What risks do you think you might assume by avoiding being conversational when assisting members? → Self-Actualized Question: What actions do you think we could take together to help you reach a six and have ultimate confidence in being
conversational with members while assisting them?
Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of a whiteboard, write down how the individual you are coaching would describe their current ability
to be conversational with members while assisting them. On the right
side of the board, ask them to define what they believe to be the ideal
ability to be conversational and what that looks like. Erase the left side
of the board and write down the five actions and strategies that the
individual would be committed to taking to become comfortable in being
conversational with members.
