→ Role Play: Using the mutually agreed upon definitions in the above activity, practice together where you play the role of member, and they

are themselves. Afterward, have them rate themselves on the agreed

above definitions on a scale of 1 to 6, with 6 being they have the

content mastered, and 1 they need significant improvement. Then

provide your rating for them. Afterward, follow up with a statement with,

“What do we need to do to get you clos er to a six in each of the areas

of development?”

Suggested Learning Projects:

→ Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Prior to sending the individual off for the week, introduce the employee to a peer that meets the skill

requirements discussed in the activities section above. Have the

employee that needs coaching observe the other for one week, then

summarize their experience in an email with the following points: What

did their peer do well that the person you are coaching can use in their

own greetings? What does the person you are coaching do better than

the employee that they were observing that they need to continue to

support?

→ Journal-Based Coaching: Similar to the above activity, have the employee track their own successes and challenges as they relate to

the agreed upon definition of engaging and genuine greetings. At the

end of the week, have them email you a summary that consists of two

successes and two challenges. Make sure they’re specific with their

summaries!
