by becoming great? What Actions must they take to bring those
opportunities within reach? What will they Love about reaching their
goals? How can taking initiative with assisting members help them
reach their goals?
Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Observational Coaching: Ask the employee to observe their peers throughout the coming week. What actions do their peers take in
assisting customers as soon as they possibly can? What relationships
do they observe between their peers and the members that they are
assisting? What are three takeaways from their observations they can
put into practice themselves when greeting and assisting members
going forward? Be prepared to discuss at your next coaching session.
→ Tangible Successes: Ask the teller to come back to your next coaching session with five examples of times during the week where
they took initiative in assisting a member. What actions did they take,
what did the conversation look like, and what was the outcome? Did
they notice any difference in their relationship with that member?
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ 30-Second Coaching: Take 30 seconds to verbally acknowledge a job well-done by the teller in taking initiative with a member. Let them know
specifically what actions you observed that they had taken, and what
benefit you see for this person with continued action.
