restaurant. She also helped her to order and showed her great kindness throughout the meal. Sam was moved to leave her a note telling her that she is surely a blessing to all who know her. Sam then asked his audience to show the same mercy whenever possible. Nearly 40 years ago, a talented artist named Sam Butcher created uplifting illustrations that became the spark igniting the Precious Moments collection as we know it today. Over the decades his humor and wisdom have been such blessings. Those who meet him or hear him speak are continually in awe of his humble nature and insightful words. At this year’s Family Reunion Event at the Precious Moments Chapel, attendees were treated to a rare experience – a live talk from the man himself, Mr. Samuel J. Butcher. Precious memories were made as guests were filled with joy, feeling honored for the opportunity to hear him speak. He told them that he was called to share “Four Things God Wants You To Know.” We would like to share some of his talk with you, our valued Club Members! The first thing Sam said that God wants you to know is that He is a God of mercy. He pointed to Acts 3 when Peter and John found a lame man begging outside the temple gate. In the name of Jesus Christ, they helped him up and he began to walk – merciful God indeed! It reminded him of a recent visit to a Chinese restaurant in the Philippines where he witnessed a gentle woman holding a matriarch’s arm as they entered the
