An Important Summer Reminder DO THIS ONE THING TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS IN 2024

No one panic, but we are already halfway through 2024. It’s difficult to believe we’re rounding the corner into the second half of the year — it feels as though 2024 only just started. It just proves the age-old saying: The days are long, but the years are short. The exciting news is that this time of the year is always filled with fun memories. It’s summertime, so that means camping, traveling, graduations, weddings, barbecues, trips to the beach or pool, and many, many other activities we all relish doing this time of the year. “There are so many ways to enjoy and celebrate in the summer, but it’s also a time for reflection.” But in the midst of summer fun, I always like to take a moment at the halfway point of each year to analyze where I am at. You may know that I’m not a big believer in New Year’s resolutions, but at the start of every year, I do create a to-do list of sorts. It’s a list of all the things I want to do in the upcoming year, and it’s now that I review that list to see what I can check off and what I need to get started working on. I recently looked at my list and saw a few things that I had to start! For example, I’ve been wanting to treat my mom to a spa day for the both of us, so I remedied that in early June. We were pampered and ended the day relaxed and refreshed. I also noticed we had a few house projects that we have

been putting off. I knew this was the perfect time to look at those projects and see what we could get done. As any homeowner will tell you, it feels like it never stops some days, but the end results are always worth it! I appreciate this midway check-in time. It gives me a sense of satisfaction knowing that I am making progress on the accomplishments I wanted to achieve in 2024 and not letting the year slip by. I encourage you to try something similar this year. It doesn’t have to be anything big. Just ask yourself a few questions. Is this year what you expected back in January 2024? If not, what can you do to change that, or what can you do to end this year positively? Are you on track to accomplish what you want to do? And if not, what can you do to get you on track? This can also be a great time to go beyond 2024 and consider how your life has changed in the past year, two, or more, or how it will change in the future. Life changes quickly, and in a blink, there can be new grandchildren, new homes, and a different lifestyle than the one you may have led when you first created your estate plan. It’s vital that you check in and update plans regularly, so you can have the peace of mind knowing that your plan reflects your mission.

This time of the year is nothing short of exciting. There are so many ways to enjoy and celebrate in the summer, but it’s also a time for reflection. I hope you join me in taking a few moments to process where you are and where you want to be. And if doing so causes you to consider changes to your estate plan, please contact our team. We want to help you protect this life you are building.

Honor Our Freedoms Ensure Your Family's Security With Estate Planning Barbecues, fireworks, parades, and parties — the Fourth of July is America’s holiday to celebrate our freedom and independence. It’s also a time for reflection on the values that define our nation. As we gather with family and friends, it's also a great opportunity to think about how to ensure our families' security and freedom. One key aspect of this is estate planning. The Fourth of July represents more than just the birth of our nation. It symbolizes the freedoms we cherish — freedom from worry, freedom to pursue happiness, and freedom to secure our future — and those brave men and women of our armed forces who fought and continue to fight to protect them. Similarly, estate planning safeguards your family’s future and provides them with the freedom to live without the burden of uncertainty after you're gone. By taking proactive steps now, you ensure that your loved ones are provided for, reflecting the very essence of the independence we celebrate. While estate planning tasks such as drafting a will, establishing trusts, designating beneficiaries, and setting up powers of attorney for healthcare and financial decisions can seem daunting, they are essential to make sure your wishes are honored and that your family is protected. Without a clear estate plan, your family may face legal challenges, financial strain, and emotional stress during an already difficult time. Estate planning alleviates these concerns, allowing your family to focus on healing and remembering you without the added burden of uncertainty. Just as the Fourth of July commemorates our nation’s commitment to freedom and security, estate planning ensures that your family enjoys the same. Planning your estate gives your family the security and clarity they need to navigate the future confidently, knowing their well-being has been prioritized. As you celebrate the Fourth of July, take a moment to consider your legacy. Think about the steps you can take to protect your family’s future. Remember that we are here to help you create a customized estate plan and keep it up to date for years to come!
