AICC Hosts Free Webinars On Reduced Waste, Mask Policies
AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, recently hosted two free webinars, Reducing Waste for Profit and Face Masks & PPE During COVID.
DESIGNS THAT INCREASE PRODUCTION
Reducing Waste for Profit, a three-day we- binar series, sponsored by SUN Automation Group, was held April 14-16. Using a video- conference platform allowed 19 participants the opportunity to offer best practices, seek solutions not only from the facilitator, Scott Ellis EdD, Working Well LLC, but from other participants as well. Pictures of real boxplants were used to help attendees understand what waste is and where it can be found, then participants identified the problems as a group. Each par- ticipant was given homework and challenged to bring back pictures from their plant that identified an issue they wanted to work on. They then worked together to seek solutions to their real-time challenges. To highlight the cost of waste, participants learned how to calculate the savings based on simple as well as complex decisions made to solve the problem. AICC Emerging Leaders helped develop Face Masks & PPE During COVID, sponsored by Gemini North America, held April 22. Forty-six participants joined the webinar to learn from member companies that have ex- perience with creating mask policies in their workplace. Members and experts shared the legal issues surrounding mask policies, dif- ferent types of masks and face shields cur- rently available, proper ways to use, store, and sanitize masks, and other PPE practices to supplement mask use. A recording of this webinar is available at www.AICCbox.org/COVID . Questions about seminars or webinars and can be directed to Taryn Pyle at tpyle@ aiccbox.org or (703) 836-2422.
