Born to Be a Bird N°2

train? What do we choose? It's permanent and natural. People think it's an entitlement, when in fact it's a tremendous freedom. I bristle at dogma. To accept dogma is to lose your free will. That's what they say, so that's how it is! No! Let's get the real information. I think you should always treasure your free will. How do you do that? By reading, by educating yourself, by kno- wing the history, the geography, what people have experienced. Recently, I was with a Cypriot friend: I had him tell me his story, because I'm interested. This discussion will lead to a better understanding of each other. When we don't turn towards others, we are opposed. In my job, it's important to try to understand others, to defuse frustrations, to say things. There's nothing worse than an e-mail. In fact, I don't read any e-mail that's longer than 10 lines, everyo- ne knows that. If it has to be more than ten lines, it's because we're talking about something complex. If it's complex, I need to hear and understand, otherwise it could frustrate me and distort my perception. The direct relationship is essential for us. That's why we all enjoy getting together, especially at World Connect by APG, our annual conference.

Sandrine de Saint Sauveur: It's the airlines' responsibility to inform their passengers and explain all the efforts that have been made. They are not capable of speaking with one voice in the face of this dogma of air pollution. Let’s explain all the decarbonisation and the extraor- dinary performance of the new aircraft ! Let’s talk about the future of air travel, cleaner and cleaner. At the risk of repeating myself, there's nothing convenient about taking the plane; just as charging 49 euros for a flight from Madrid to Paris devalues all the technology needed to make an aircraft fly, it's shooting ourselves in the foot. Let customers choose their means of transport with the right information: they are captive during a flight, and airlines should take the opportu- nity to explain to them the real investments being made in SAF and in decarbonisation. Let's take him to the Netherlands to see how much energy is consumed by the huge servers that host our e-mails and text messages. Terrible consumers of energy, invi- sible polluters... in the face of dogmas that continue to focus on the visible, such as aircraft. Being able to move around is great. The day you stop moving, you quickly become obese. I spend most of my time trying not to become obese.

Class & Relax Lifestyle Magazine: You fly a lot. Do you feel that you contribute to global warming more than others?
