dupes of perdition the prospect is not en couraging. INCREASE OF CRIME Crime is on the increase. Murder and suicide are both running rampant through out the nation. In 1882 there were 1500 murders in these United States ; in 1892 there were 5600 murders in this country; in 1896 there were 10,300 murders in our coun try; in 1910 there were 15,600 murders and suicides, and in 1913 there were nearly 20,000 murders and suicides. Lawlessness is officially entrenched throughout the na tions of the earth. When a man like W. H. Taft, who denies the Deity of Jesus Christ, can be elected to the presidency of our country, it shows that something is radically wrong with the voters of the na tion. Any number of church members cruc ified Jesus Christ at the polls when they voted for the Unitarian president. The mayor of Minneapolis not very many years ago offered immunity to the criminals if they would divide the spoils, and they sent him to the State prison. The history of San Francisco, with its den of political grafters and henchmen makes bad reading. New York’s murder trust does not clarify the atmosphere; Chicago’s officials do not help the case ; the Ohio State legislature investigated by a prominent detective, fur nished material in the line of evidence which sent several of them to the State prison, and that does not look like the world getting better very fast. The complete failure of man in his governmental system is a reality. A COLOSSAL FARCE Human government is a colossal farce. The peace conferences are a huge joke. Hydrophobia sweeps the nations, for those boasting the greatest knowledge and high est civilization have been bitten by the mad- dogs of war. The bloody battlefields of Eu rope give the lie to the boasted claim that th® world has outlived the days of savagery and war. Science has helped the nations of the earth to populate hell at a rapid rate, and atheistic evolution has done little for
their ears from the truth, and shall be turned into fables. BREATH FROM HELL False religions are prospering as never before in the history of the world. Eddy- anity, or so-called Christian Science, which is the advance agent of the Antichrist and comes as a breath from hell, has left its stain and blight not only all over this na tion, but has duped gullible humanity in other parts of the world. Its propaganda declaring that there is no sin, is a warrant for every conceivable line of immorality that the Devil can suggest to men and women. Theosophy with its occultism and mysti cism is equally devilish in character and soul-blighting in its effects. My friend, Dr. Hayes, of China, told me that the Simon- pure teaching of Theosophy in the Orient demands that the women shall not only wash the feet of their husbands as an indi cation of their humility and subordinate position, but further demands that they shall drink the water. The Devil has swung the pendulum to both extremes, from frigid formality to frightful fanaticism wherever it has been possible, Holy Rollers and Holy Jumpers have devoted their time to the wildest kind of emotional debauchery; while others, muttering incoherent sounds, have claimed the Gift of Tongues and some of the poor dupes who have gone to other countries thinking they could preach the Gospel found that they had no message which the hearers could understand and they have been thrown into despair and doubt. Spiritism is being revived again with the help of a number of English scien tists. Sir Oliver Lodge has recently de clared the veil between this world and the next to be wearing thin in places. Modern ism has turned from the doctrine of atheism to pantheism and has also attempted to palm off the Deification of man as some thing worthy the confidence of modern wor shippers,. So with men worshipping them selves and saying we are accountable only to the god within; and with the judgment day outlawed in the minds of these poor
