THE KING’S BUSINESS

A CHANCE TO DO GOOD

Appreciative Words Concerning this Magazine, from Persons Who Cannot Afford to Pay for It— Help Them

months time, and ever since I have been leading men and women to the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world. I cannot afford to send you any money, be cause I don’t get a big wage, but I do pray God may touch your hearts so that I may get a free training in the art of study ing the Bible, and that I may receive not only T he K ing ’ s B usiness but other books that will help me to get up sermons.” J. Lee, 40 South St., South Normanton, Alfreton, Derbyshire, England: “Having recently received two copies of T he K ing ’ s B usiness from your office, I am writing to thank you for the same. I cannot afford to subscribe for the magazine and I thought it best to tell you so. I shall be 71 years of age next month, if spared. I. am quite deaf, and only able to pick up a few shill ings now and then as a peddler, and the European war has hit me in this.” “It is with a great deal of pleasure I en close $1 for T he K ing ’ s B usiness , undoubt edly the best S. S. magazine I have ever read. I have been trying to decide which department I like best, but it is not easy to answer. It seems each department is espe cially good and leaves not anything to be desired.” “I am delighted with it, finding from cover to cover the most helpful and inspir ing thoughts. Have been searching each number, closely comparing it with God’s Word, and find no fault.” -“All of our S. S. teachers have expressed themselves in highest terms over your maga zine. We congratulate you upon the stand you take for the old fundamental truths of our most holy faith. Let me assure you of our continued prayers for you and your ;at work in the West.”

T ATE are constantly in receipt of com- * * munications from missionaries, min isters and others, in different parts of the world, asking that we furnish them with T he K ing ’ s B usiness . They candidly state their inability to pay a year’s subscription, yet earnestly plead that we favor them with the magazine. Of course, it is impossible for us to respond favorably to all these calls, already having a large free list. If any of our friends should desire to bestow a subscription upon some worthy fellow-be liever, and will send the necessary amount to us, the magazine will be forwarded and the name of the recipient of his favor will be sent to the donor. We would urge our friends to take advantage of this opportun ity to do a generous act of far-reaching religious influence. Below are a few of the letters received: I. H. Cammack, superintendent Friends’ Mission, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Central America: “As a former recipient of ‘The Fundamentals,’ which I prize highly, I wish very much" to receive their continuation in T he K ing ’ s B usiness , if possible. Hence I trust my name may be kept upon your mailing list. I don’t like to send this with out enclosing $1, but 'that is a thing rather rare here, though occasionally one may be secured for three dollars (pesos), which means very much in a land and time of scarcity.” J. Bailey, 102 Church St., Jump, N. Barns- by, Yorkshire, England: “I am only a poor young man as far as this world’s goods are concerned, but thanks be to God, He has a rich storehouse. I have a wife and two children, and God has wonderfully blessed me. I gave my heart to God about seven years ago. I didn’t know a word in the Bible at that time, but they brought me out on the ‘Preachers’ Plan’ in twelves
