PERHAPS NEW YORK FASH- ION WEEK HAS ALWAYS BEEN on your wish list, but it’s tough to get an invite and a ticket. However, that’s no reason to despair, because you’re sure to be “fed” with fash- ion inspiration by people watch- ing from the windows of one of the city’s much-hyped restaurants or cafés. Still, you should begin your lifestyle experience in the capital of the world by selecting a hotel that will spoil you with a measure of sophistication per square me- tre. It would be no exaggeration to say that The Bowery Hotel has been a beacon of timeless luxury since it opened in 2007. Each of its 135 sun-swept rooms boasts floor-to-ceiling windows in an in- dustrial style, providing incredible views of New York's Lower East Side. It also offers its guests un- paralleled elegance and hospital- ity, while rock stars regularly re- turn here for the exciting events held in the hotel’s lobby.

There’s also the famous The Mark Hotel, situated on the cor- ner of 77th Street and Madison Avenue, at the heart of New York's Upper East Side. Originally con- structed as far back as 1926 in the Neo-Renaissance style, it to- day fuses contemporary luxury with the essence of old New York charm, thanks to the interiors be- ing designed by renowned French designer Jacques Grange for the 2009 reopening.
