As a result, trends in outstanding trades were identified, root cause analysis conducted, and resolutions implemented. As a result, the greater than 90 days unsettled trade population at month end reduced by 50% from 30 trades to 15 trades. Identified that drafting XAU confirmations could be automated, so communicated with stakeholders to understand why the process had remained manual. Following discussion, risks were mitigated against, and automation of the task was carried out. This resulted in 37 hours’ time being saved per annum, equating to £1,050/0.02 headcount. Managed the migration of operational functions to a new team, trained colleagues and compiled procedures as part of an aggressive cost cutting programme. As a result, approximately £300,000 was saved and Senior Management met cost targets without sacrificing control, risk, and quality of work.
