“Every rodeo I go to I get one run better. That’s what it’s all about for me: to keep making runs and improving,” said Cianfichi. As far as the future goes, Cianfichi has a 2-year-old colt she bought as a weanling that she has started from the ground up. This is the first horse she has had to train from the very beginning and hopes to finish as a breakaway horse. In rodeo, she has her sights set on the National Finals Breakaway Roping and to take horses she has trained. “Horsepower is everything in rodeo, but also making it on a horse that is special to me, I hope I get a chance to do that as well,” said Cianfichi, who is appreciative of all her family’s support. As of now, she is second in the Resistol Rookie breakaway standings and she is only getting started.

With three years of college complete, the 4.0 GPA finance major fully intends on finishing her degree to then pursue a career at Presley Wealth Management, a company Smith’s mother started and named after her daughter. For now, however, Smith says she wants to take advantage of the doors Jerry is opening for her. From wins like the Rookie Roundup to meeting new people, Jerry is opening more doors all time and Smith is hopeful for their future in the rodeo industry.
