LE CARROUSEL DE LA GRC DÉBARQUE À WENDOVER
« C’est la première fois qu’on a ça à Wendover ! » Pour la toute première fois, le Carrousel de la Gendarmerie royale du Canada s’est arrêté à Wendover. Une trentaine de cavaliers, assis haut sur leur bête au poil noir lustré, ont fait plusieurs manœuvres impressionnantes, devant le regard captivé de plus de 1000 curieux qui s’étaient donné rendez-vous au Centre communautaire Lucien Delorme. L’évènement était organisé dans le cadre du Festival western de Wendover, qui aura lieu du 9 au 14 juillet prochain. « On a vendu au moins 1000 billets, a expliqué Joanne Delorme, ancienne présidente du Festival western de Wendover et organisatrice de l’évènement. « Parce qu’on ne pouvait pas avoir ce spectacle en juillet, on a décidé de le faire en mai. » — photo fournie
Several members of the Rockland Scout group decided to recently clean up Simon Park in Rockland. The Wolf cubs were also on hand to help out. The latter are aged from 8 to 10, whereas the scouts are aged between 11 and 14. “The cubs chose to do this as a group to help the community,” said Donovan Cooper, in charge of the cubs. —supplied photo
