ALUMNI WEEK

From May 24 to May 28, Cathedral hosted its first- ever Virtual Alumni Week! We were excited to see more than 100 of our graduates from around the world, along with their families, join us over the course of the week to celebrate our school ties and the influence that Cathedral has had on our lives. Events included a special screening of the documentary “Chinatown Rising” by Josh Chuck ’93, a mixology class hosted by Max Young ’79, a trivia night won by Jeffrey Byrnes ’89, and a special “Head-to-Head Conversation” between Founding Headmaster Rev. Canon David Forbes and current Head of School Burns Jones. Additionally, that same week also marked our first-ever Alumni Week of Giving. Our sincere thanks go out to those alumni who helped us reach our goal of 95 gifts in honor of Canon Forbes’ recent 95th birthday!

If you missed the Alumni Week events, or just want to relive them, keep reading to find excerpts from the Head-to-Head Conversation and Canon Forbes’ recollections of the early days of the School. We’re looking forward to building off of this year’s event and expanding our alumni offerings next year; if you have any ideas or would like to help out with the planning, please email alumni@cathedralschool.net .
