Dana D. Hemberger Dana writes, “My wife, Susan, and I have retired from Mother Goose School after 50+ years of working with the youth of San Francisco and the Bay Area. I’ll continue with my real estate interests and spending time at Corinthian Yacht Club while Susan spends time with our grandchildren. My early years at Cathedral have helped me become the man that I am today. A proud husband, father, and grandfather are good things to be.” CLASS of 1972 Jonathan Y. Hobbs Johnathan is an airline pilot for American Airlines based out of Charlotte, and came by the School to say hello while on a layover. He also writes, “I was able to reconnect with Courtney McKean the past few months. Little has changed between 1967 and the half-century we’ve been apart. Our friendship took right off from where it left off. I’ve had dinner with his delightful family twice in the past month and Courtney and I were able to show how Mrs. Dyer’s dog, Shadow, was able to make such an impression on us. Several impressions actually; impres- sions in the form of bite marks on our hands!” See photo. John C. Winch John writes, “I have just published my first novel, Ring of Fire . It is available through BookBaby.com, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble.” CLASS of 1977 Christopher J. Raisbeck Christopher was one of the winners of this year’s San Francisco University High School Alumni Honors Award in 2021, honored for dedicating his life to serving the community as a teacher, health educator, grief counselor, and healthcare worker.
Benjamin H. Maeck Benjamin and his family welcomed a new addition, Benny IV, last October! CLASS of 1980 Elliot E. Mainzer Last fall, Elliot was named the CEO and President of the California Independent System Operator (ISO), which is responsible for managing the flow of electricity that serves 80 percent of California. CLASS of 1984 Maximillian Armour Max reports, “Work and family keep me busy these days. We have two boys: Oskar (13) and Malkolm (16). I tell people that I still live in the City and sleep in Mill Valley. I sell residential real estate in the north side of town so there is always a chance you can catch me at one of my open houses.” CLASS of 1985 Sherman G. Griffin Sherman writes, “All is well. All four of us have been working and schooling at home. Getting along just fine! I’ve got my new consulting business off the ground and going well, Griffin Marketing Consulting. I’m enjoying working with a variety of clients and find it challenging. My son John will be going to Tufts University next year, where he’ll be on the men’s rowing team there.” Sherman also visited the School on a recent visit to San Francisco, where he happened to run into CSB classmate and current trustee Matt Peek ’85! See photo. CLASS of 1986 Donovan Hohn Donovan recently published a new book of essays about the natural world, titled The Inner Coast , which received a rave review from the Chronicle.

Alston L. Lew Dad Raymond reports that Alston recently was admitted as an attorney of the Southern District of California. CLASS of 1996 Jason McGaughey Jason reports, “Last time we spoke I had just returned from Sierra Leone and was trying to see when I might be back in the Bay Area. Since then, I went to work as an Education in Emergencies Advisor in Bangladesh (Rohingya Response) and most recently moved to Amman, Jordan. I now work for Save the Children International as their head Education Technical Advisor for the Whole of Syria.
