KATHY WILLEY, 7th/8th Grade Science Teacher Kathy Willey joined Cathedral in 2021. She previously taught 7th and 8th grade science in Burlington, Vermont for 21 years. Ms. Willey earned her B.A. in Natural Science and Math from Bradford College and her M.Ed from the University of Vermont. In her free time, Ms. Willey enjoys walking, running, yoga, singing, and exploring nature.
KAREN WRIGHT, Kindergarten Co-Lead Teacher Karen Wright joined the Cathedral School for Boys community in 2021. Raised in Hong Kong, Ms. Wright received her B.A. in 1993 from Brown University, followed by a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University/ Shady Hill School Teacher Training Program in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She taught kindergarten at Shady Hill School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Illinois, and 2nd Grade at Marin Country Day School. Aside from teaching, Mrs. Wright is active in her childrens’ school communities, and she loves to play games and adventure travel with her husband and four children, gather with her girlfriends, and do arts and crafts. KAREN YOUNG, Lower School Learning Specialist Karen Young joined Cathedral in 2021. She received a B.A. in Government from St. Mary’s College and a MSEd in Special Education from Purdue University, along with a Certificate in Educational Therapy from UC Riverside. Before working at Cathedral, Ms. Young previously worked as an Educational Therapist in private practice. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, biking, and family game nights with her husband and two daughters. Courtney Graham has moved into the 1st Grade Co-Lead teaching position. She has been teaching since 1993 and found her home at Cathedral School for Boys in 2007, starting as a 2nd grade teacher and later serving as the Lower School Learning Support Coordinator as well as Kindergarten teacher. Courtney has her multiple subject teaching credential, reading specialist credential, and a Master’s degree in Education. She loves San Francisco, especially its architecture, progressiveness, and libraries, and spends most of her free time with her daughter. KATE JUERGENS, Assistant Head of School Kate Juergens is moving into the newly created Assistant Head of School role after five years as the Director of Lower School. Kate began her career at Cathedral in 2006, where she taught First Grade for three years before moving to Kindergarten. Kate graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bucknell University with a major in French and holds a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of the Pacific. Kate is an avid reader and baker who absolutely loves The Great British Baking Show and along with her family, enjoys exploring new places, eating new foods, and listening to live music.
