message from the head of school
In short, our 2024–2029 Strategic Plan is built on a foundation of extensive research and the input of experts across various fields.
teachers and staff will be fundamental to our school’s continued success.
3. Campus Development Our final focus area is the physical development of our campus to meet both current and future needs. A long-identified priority is the construction or acquisition of a new gym — something that has been on the school’s radar for decades. We also recognize the need to renovate Gresham Hall, which serves as our dining hall, performing arts venue, and a space for school events. Additionally, to support the growth of our student body, we need more classroom space. While these ideas are still in the exploratory phase — whether through expanding our current footprint or considering space in the neighborhood — our commitment to improving the campus is unwavering. A Vision for the Future Strategic plans are often visions for the future, providing direction and clarity. While it’s challenging to predict every detail or outcome at this early stage, one thing is certain: We will need additional endowment funds to bring our ambitions to life. We recognize that plans will evolve as circumstances change, but we are committed to moving beyond discussion and into action. Our vision is clear. We need world-class facilities to match the world-class programs and people at the heart of our school. In the coming months, we will be sharing more detailed plans, but for now, I wanted to offer you a high-level overview of our vision and where we are directing our efforts. Together, we can ensure that our school continues to thrive and offer an exceptional education for generations to come.
Focus Areas of the 2024–2029 Strategic Plan Our 2024–2029 Strategic Plan is organized around three primary focus areas: academic excellence, teacher support, and campus development. These pillars will guide our efforts as we move from research to action. 1. Academic Excellence Our school has long been recognized for its strong academic program, and we aim to build on this strength for the future. Our goal is to ensure that we remain a leader in academic excellence not just for the coming years, but for generations to come. A particular focus will be on student leadership development, which we believe better aligns with the current needs of society and our commitment to character development. While character development is about nurturing well-rounded individuals, leadership development emphasizes the application of those qualities, encouraging students to use their talents and abilities to positively influence others. This shift from theory into action will empower our students to lead with purpose and prepare them for real-world challenges ahead. 2. Faculty and Staff Support Attracting, retaining, and developing exceptional faculty and staff remain central to our strategy. We understand that competitive compensation is key to maintaining a high-quality team. As such, growing our Endowment remains a priority to ensure we can offer top-tier salaries and benefits. Our commitment to supporting the professional growth of our
