THE BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS, October 5, 2015 Near the Feast of St. Francis, the School observes the Blessing of the Animals. WELCOMING OUR NEW HEADMASTER ON CSB SUNDAY, October 18, 2015 Burns Jones was installed as Headmaster of Cathedral School for Boys. 4. HALLOWEEN PARADE AND PARTY, October 30, 2015 5. GRANDPARENTS AND SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY, November 24, 2015 Each year boys may invite up to four guests to join them for a special morning at school. This day offers an enjoyable opportunity for our boys to enhance these meaningful relationships in their lives. We are fortunate to have many visitors who join us on this day each year. This year’s Grandparents and Special Friends Day will be on November 22. 6. LESSONS AND CAROLS, December 17, 2015 Patterned after the Christmas Day service at King’s College, Cambridge, it is a festive collection of lessons from scripture read by Upper School boys and musical offerings from every class in the school as well as the choir. These musical offerings include handbells, anthems, and spirituals, along with the traditional music of Christmas. The service concluded with a special performance of “We Three Kings” featuring solos by The Rt. Rev. Marc Handley Andrus, the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of California; and The Very Rev. Dr. Malcolm Clemens Young, dean of Grace Cathedral. Plus, a rousing rendition of “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” was sung in parts and performed by each CSB class. 7. PARENTS ASSOCIATION’S SUPER FRIENDS GALA, March 5, 2016 Nearly 300 CSB heroes assembled at Bimbo’s 365 Club in celebration of our super school. A delicious dinner was served at tables decorated with Hulk-sized red balloons and student- designed SUPER FRIENDS votives. Superhero drinks like the “Clark Kent” were only a pour away and t-shirts & totes were transformed into SUPER FRIENDS-branded swag on the spot by Lords of Print. Guests stayed late and danced to the beats of vinyl DJ Kimmy Le Funk and enjoyed a yummy Ice Cream Bar. The gala will net over $180,000! Plus an additional $140,100 was pledged for the Fund-A-Need classroom technology boards and the Lower & Upper School hallway project. 8. FIELD DAY, June 7, 2016 While everyone had a great time at this year’s Field Day at Skyline College, it was the Red Team who seemed to be smiling the brightest at the end of the day. Congratulations to the Red Team on their big win! SCORE: Red Team, 221 points/Gold Team, 186 points
