SHEILA GHIDINI, Lower School Art Teacher Ms. Ghidini had two exhibitions this last summer. The first was a commissioned site-specific wall drawing at Chandra Cerrito, Oakland, that ran from June 7-August 30 with a reception on June 7. And the other, titled Side by Side, displayed from July 12-September 14, was a group exhibition at the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, San Francisco. Its reception occurred on July 12. SEAN BREEN, Upper School Performing Arts Teacher Mr. Breen’s son, Jon Breen ’96, was recognized this year as one of Rutgers University’s highest academic achievers with the Leydt Society Award. The society, launched in 2015, spotlights students ranked in the top two-percent academically and selected from about 8,800 undergraduates who earned degrees from Rutgers-New Brunswick and the University’s academic health care division, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. The afternoon event celebrated 184 students handpicked by the University for their achievement in the classroom, in laboratories, and in the arts. CORD GREENE, Director of Extended Day Mr. Greene and his wife, Jules, now have added two dogs to the Greene family: Dena and Murray. Dena, named after Pasadena where Mr. Greene is from, is a Havanese/Terrier mix who loves drooling, playing fetch, and digging. Murray, named after Rancho Murieta where Jules is from, is a Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix who loves getting into trouble with his sister. ALEXANDRE ILJAS, Director of Athletics In December 2018, Mr. Iljas graduated from Concordia-University Irvine with a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration.

JIMMY SANTOSA, Instructional Technology From July 7-28, Jimmy traveled to South Africa as a presenter with EdTech Summit Africa team. Together, this international team facilitated technology summits for local teachers at six host schools. Between the summits, there were many opportunities for the EdTech team to sightsee, socialize and visit schools. Mr. Santosa formed friendships with his fellow presenters, half of whom hail from South Africa or the continent. BURNS JONES, Headmaster Last summer, Headmaster Jones attended the International Boys’ School Coalition annual conference in Montreal. Hundreds of staff members from boys’ schools from all over the world were in attendance. The theme was “Boys and the Arts.” KATHRYN WILLIAMS, Fifth- and Sixth-grade English Teacher, is a grandmother yet again! Daughter Sarah gave birth to her second child, Reed Emmanuelle Yap-Stone, on April 12. MARNIE WOOD, Former Third-Grade Teacher visited San Francisco this spring and got to catch up with her former colleague Mr. Rees while she was in town!
