“ That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16).
W hen the Apostle Paul prayed for the saints at Ephesus, he asked of the Lord that He would grant to those believers “ to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man” (Eph. 3:16). Paul discovered a great truth, namely, there is no limit to the spiritual power a child of God may re ceive by means of the indwelling Holy Spirit. It is written of the sons of Gad that the leasts of them was equal to more than one hundred men, and the greatest of them was equal to more than one thou sand men (I Chron. 12:14). This is simply stating that the Gadites were possessed of superhuman strength. These were the men who bravely aided their brethren in the conquest of Canaan (Joshua 4:12; JULY/AUGUST, 1970
22:1-4). The Ammonites and the Midianites combined were unable to break through their defense. What was true of the Gadites can be typically true of every born-again person. Micah stood against the crooked politicians and selfish religious leaders of his day. How did he do it? He writes, “ But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to de clare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin" (Micah 3:8). This Old Testament servant of God is one more illustration of the power that God has provided for His children through the Holy Spirit, strengthening them to do the impossible.
